What Happens Step-by-Step at a Cleaning

A blunt probe gauges the gap between each tooth and the gum around it. A healthy reading is 1–3mm; 4mm or more with bleeding signals gum disease. It's the single most important gum-health check — and the part most patients have no clue is even taking place.
